The Earth Record is an independent daily journal of natural events. This public site does not require an account, collect form submissions or run advertising or visitor analytics.

Our hosting providers process network requests and operational/security logs when you visit. Requests may include your IP address, browser information and the pages requested. The site is hosted directly on Cloudflare infrastructure.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When available, official USGS shaking-map images may load from USGS servers. Those providers receive the technical information needed to deliver their files. Links to scientific agencies open their own sites, whose privacy policies apply.

The scientific records shown here are collected from public agency feeds. We retain source links, timestamps and versions to support corrections and historical research. We do not collect reports from members of the public or publish private household information.

This journal has partial geographic and temporal coverage. Data can be preliminary, revised, delayed or unavailable. It is not an emergency warning service; consult the relevant official agency for current advice.
