FFWFFC The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Henry County in north central Georgia... Northwestern Lamar County in west central Georgia... Pike County in west central Georgia... Spalding County in west central Georgia... * Until 1145 AM EDT Saturday. * At 543 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Griffin, McDonough, Zebulon, Hampton, Locust Grove, Milner, Williamson, Orchard Hill, Meansville, Sunny Side, East Griffin, Concord, Experiment, Highland Mills, Rover, Towalaga, Walker Mill, Zetella and Birdie.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
