Cedar River near Conesville affecting Muscatine and Louisa Counties. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Marengo affecting Benton and Iowa Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Iowa River at Wapello. * WHEN...Until Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Agricultural land near the river is flooded and water covers most islands. Water starts rising onto secondary roads in Wapello Bottoms. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 21.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 PM CDT Thursday was 21.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 15.9 feet Thursday, October 15. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Friday morning.
