FFWMOB The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Covington County in south central Alabama... * Until 300 AM CDT. * At 907 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Opp, Florala, Lockhart, Stedman, Green Bay, Huckaville, McRae, Onycha, Red Oak, Horn Hill, Stanley, Howells, Beulah, Babbie, Blairs, Estothel and County Line.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
